2 parts organic top soil to 1 part washed play sand NQA
You can majorly play around with your substrate mix though. That’s just the recommended
@last sparrow say i wanted to like too introduce a bioactive enclosure will it smell less or more?
I think it’ll smell like dirt 90% of the time. If it doesn’t smell like dirt something is probably off
I’ve never noticed a scent from Leo poo
the bio active and no bio active is the same mix right?
play sand + top soil
i can start with non bio active and turn it into a bioactive over time?
and surely bio active would smell better right with clean up crew?
so i can introduce plants over time @quiet loom
bcus the girl i have who was rlly skinny 16grams and wasn't eating whos been in quarantine with just paper towel for about 3 months is now 40grams and eating every day
would you say its time to introduce that new substrate?
not really much of an effect on smell ime
and depending on how she adjusts i turn it intoa bioactive after a while?
id say if youve had her for a solid 2 months without health complications and your heating and temperatures are up to guide standard, loose substrate will be good.
you can turn it to a bioactive over time-- thats up to you
@swift that seems like a great quarantine timeline
she's gained so much didn't eat for about 4 months after i got her and she was only 20grams when i got her like just before Christmas and dropped too 16grams tail was pretty much just skin
so i changed enclosure to a way bigger tank
and got better heating and gave her time
and shes 40grams today and finished shedding today
she onyl had her second shed 2 weeks ago since i got her
and she had her 3rd today
