#I’m having struggles trying to keep the humidity low and heat up without overheating

whats your humidity at and what heat sources are you using for the tank?
The humidity is like 40%-50% I’m using a heat mat on the hot side and a heat lamp on top too and on the cold side a light lamp
When I have all the heat sources( the light and heat lamp) on the humidity goes down to like a 38%ish but as soon as I turn off the light lamp the humidity starts to climb back up
The heat temp is usually around 81-91F
those are fine humidities, they dont live in bone dry environments in the wild. since you’re new i will suggest to please read the !guide. itll go over science backed husbandry methods.
a heating mat is a pretty ineffective heat source and with proper overtank heating and loose substrate, it is useless. heat mats do not penetrate into the deep tissues of reptiles, its merely surface level heat. as well as dont change ambients. guide will also have a humidity section you might find interesting based on your question. if you have any further questions please let us know :)
