So I came home from school today and Merlin usually comes out to greet me, today he didn’t and when he came out for food he had a lot of shed stuck. I don’t know what’s up with it, I’ve got a humid hide that I spray daily and his enclosure never gets under 40% on the hot side yet he still has had two fairly awful sheds. Everything else seems to be fine. Does anyone know what could be causing this?

sometimes bad sheds can be a supplement issue to my knowledge as well :o

#

how long had the shed been on? / how long had he been shedding for do you know as well?

He wasn’t when I left this morning so anywhere from 9-5 hours?

kinda looks like he wasn't done shedding in the pic you sent

#

like you came in while he was still in the process

I thought that too at first, but it’s been a few hours since I got home and he hasn’t finished up yet. Is it possible he hasn’t finished up because I interrupted him?

possibly could have gotten distracted if you tried feeding him maybe? Normally you give them 24 hours or so to get it off

Ok, I figured I could leave him be and if it’s still stuck tomorrow when I get home I can give him a soak? Does that sound ok?( I don’t want to leave it on too long if it is stuck but I also don’t want to disturb a perfectly normal shed) also it seems like he’s sorta got an appetite at all times? He ate the second day after we got him and has only missed three days since, when I put a mealworm in and he came out covered in shed and ate it I was really surprised as I’ve heard they don’t like eating when they’re shedding 🕺

Nod if it's still on there tomorrow when you get home you can intervene then yeh.
