@hoary oak Hey, could you delete the photo and repost it in #tw-animal-pics? It's a bit graphic to be shared here
done! i’m sorry!!
my friend who’s a manager at petsmart let me know this guy was here. he was heavily discounted, they let me have him at a loss. i already have an enclosure, heat, uvb, anything he will need for him but i would love some extra advice. vet is being called first thing tomorrow when they open; i’ve cared for an emaciated baby before but he is so scrawny :( thank you
og text
i didn’t mean to upset !
No worries ^^
Honestly, I'm not sure if there's anything we can tell you that would be helpful between now and when you call the vet. I would push for an emergency appointment, but in that state, I unfortunately have to say you should probably prepare yourself for the worst
that’s my thought too. i took him in with that in mind
You can read the !guide here as well if you haven't already. Try not to stress him out as much as possible between now and when you can get him to the vet
absolutely! not my first rescue rodeo and definitely not my last
my only real concern currently is crypto, so we’re QTing him in a completely separate part of the house
if i can get a bug or two in his belly and he lasts the night, i have high hopes
Thank you for taking him in regardless of what happens. It's better to pass away in the home of someone who actually cares where it can be quiet then Petsmart, that's for damn sure
absolutely, reptiles and their care are my absolute passion in this lifetime
if anything, he can have a good nights rest and let go, and that’s more than i can ask for
Yep. I'll ping <@&864631648914243614> , but I imagine they'll say the same as me
@hoary oak I will say, keep that leo away from any other reptiles and take all bio security precautions
I’d get a crypto test
that’s first step!
he’s on opposite side of house with all different equipment, bugs, and calcium
good, poor buddy looks rough
i’ll be showering with my pre surgery soap before entering my room
we have a TON of it leftover from aidens surgeries
also be cautions about reintroducing nutrition, you don’t want to feed super fatty foods or too much too quickly
i put two baby mealies in with him tonight
he’s active and angry so
i’m hoping that’s a good sign
that’s better than lethargic
nqa do watch out for regurgitation. ive experienced this at petsmart and outlooks have never been good but its super common for them to regurgitate after not eating for a long time
