dimming thermostat question

Hello again, so sorry for so many questions. Today I realised that my thermostat is not a dimming one and is an on/off, the dimmer switch I attached does not stop the light from turning on and off every few minutes. I was wondering if any of these links are correct for what I should buy?

Yeah. The one I have is now turning the light off as soon as it hits 94 degrees on the basking spot, then turning it back on after a minute, and it cycles like that, and I know that will blow the bulb

I found the 300w on this website, but the description says it's on off, I'm very confused

If you get a dimming stat you don’t need a dimming dome but if you can’t exactly get a dimming stat atm cus they’re out of stock I would opt for that one anyways but in the 8.5 in dome. Bigger domes dispense the heat better. if you do get a dimming stat any of the ones should work from the shopping list :3

I don’t use on/off stats so I’m not so sure as to why your stuff is doin that qvq another person who has used on/off may be able to help with that part

Should I trust the bluefish site, or should I go with Amazon instead? If bluefish let's me finance it, I can get it today, but Amazon will not let me finance the dimmer through them so it would have to wait

Okay! I'm getting good reviews online, and I'm checking the descriptions of the thermostat they sell, to see if they just copy pasted the description and that's why it says on off in there. Also, thank you for answering so many of my question, I feel bad asking so many

In the meantime before it gets here, should I set the temperature manually with the dimmer switch, and just closely monitor it, instead of having the on off on the bulb?

i personally wouldn't take it off the stat, as bulbs can get a lot hotter and 94 is manageable for a couple days until you get the stat. although you said that the bulb is strobing?

Yeah, when it gets up to whatever I set the temp at or right below, the light turns off, the temp will drop by a degree or so, then it turns back on, goes back up, light turns off

The exoterra dimming one should be here within 3-8 days

ah yeah, this is the one downside when it comes to using halogens with on/off w/ a dimmer. the point of having the dimmer is to turn it down continually to the point where it maintains the heat but doesn't turn off. you need to be able to find that happy medium with the dimmer switch
