What is Companions?
Companions is a new version of "Classic" AFK Arena, featuring cooperative play with friends or guildmates, unlike the solo, leaderboard-focused Classic mode.
How does Companions differ from Classic?
Content: Companions has fewer heroes and modes. Some Classic content is reintroduced here as "new," while modes like Temporal Rift and Misty Valley are removed, with others identical to Classic. More content is expected to be added with time, but it's evidently mostly all already in Classic.
Resonating Crystal (RC): Companions improved the RC by making every hero you own automatically gain the RC level. You also only need 1 Ascended hero to raise the overall RC level due to the 'Modify' button.
Merged Features: Collections merge with pets, and hero stars replace furniture and engravings.
Artifacts/Collections: No artifacts or collections yet, though a sixth hero slot implies future equippable items.
More differences exist, but these are key points.
Which is better, Classic or Companions?
Classic offers more content and faster progress, while Companions is slower-paced and more challenging. If you enjoy steady, tougher gameplay, Companions is surprisingly engaging; otherwise, Classic is the more comprehensive option.
