Because her ult will instakill anything under 40% HP

Brutus' Last Gasp triggers when any attack will outright kill him. So he's usually left at 1 HP unless healed. But if he's up against Nara, the Instakill overrides the Invincibility

Nara's skill set also drains energy on who attacks her (this includes whose grappled by her) so Brutus can't ult and life leech against her.

Her skill set also deals HP percentile damage, which is enough to knock Brutus down to his Last Gasp activating. And Nara's ult is very quick to activate so...

Up until Chapter 24. She starts to drop from there. I still use her but... I find myself replacing her with Isabella or Oden.

That and Shemira, because people make her the strongest in their party, is easily preyed on by Satrana. Satrana's ult targets the strongest hero and inflicts an Anti-heal penalty - literally no healing. And that stays on the target unless dispelled by Fawkes' ult or it explodes (and the target survives).

Yeah, Satrana is not the strongest hero. For my team, its Khasos. And his life leech passive bonus isn't interrupted when he's coffined.

So Fawkes wastes his skill.

And if I see Fawkes on an enemy team, I throw Nara at him. He's too slow for a celerity unit to use his coffin (second skill activation priority) vs Nara's Impale (first skill activation priority)

So I wouldnt say that the statuette was controlling him, but more of Mezoth had exploited a growing weakness within the writer

The statuette is a focus and catalyst for Mezoth to spread his influence on the unwitting. The chef was a devout and he prayed to Mezoth who in turn corrupts him to delve deep in to the most basic and desperate needs of survival - cannibalism. The chef retains some form of his rationale as it slowly whittles away, targeting the dead first and then the dying and then those who are weakest. The crew have a very good idea where the meat is coming from but won’t say anything in an effort to preserve their sanity and retain the group mentality that they are unaware who that meat belonged to.
In the end, the writer recognizes that he himself is next and becomes increasingly aware of his situation and takes the initiative. He fights for his survival and kills the chef, and by doing that he speeds up the doom of himself and everyone else as they now have to select who will be the chef and who will bear the responsibility of preparing who will go next, prepare the body for cleaving, and cooking - there is no escape or lying to yourself here. The reality of cooking human meat will be thrust in to the next chef’s hands and they will become even more insane. And here is where Mezoth will spread his influence.
In the end, Mezoth will arrive to devour the last - a juicy, trauma-fattened and delectable soul and husk he stewed and prepared.

I really like Niru, so I'm a little salty about his ascension tier, lol. I don't understand why people dislike him either? He never struck me as a bad dad, just mentally disturbed due to his time as a medic. He definitely doesn't get any points for convincing his wife to join him in the afterlife, but I've always thought that necromancy tends to warp the minds of the Graveborn even further than whatever trauma they've already experienced. In that state he probably thought it was best to reunite his family, rather than allow his wife to move on.

I find it funny how the Twins, beings made to foster peace, are used as war pawns themselves.

It's to boost their allies' morale sure, but... that's still a not-so-peaceful act. They're still killing living beings.

Not all of the graveborn were absurdly religious, and the character stories show there are Several necromancers with different agendas at work in Esperia

Case in point Kelthur, at no point did they mention his faith but a...comparatively...well intentioned necromantic cult reanimated him to give him a chance at his last wish. Which just so happens to be vengeance on a lightbearer family.

From what I understand none of the graveborn happened without cause, Kelthur and Baden were revived by people furthering a personal agenda, Oden revived himself, and Grezhul and Nara could have been revived by Annih but who knows.
