Basically, my oc is a female squire who got betrayed by her knight after the knight was offered glory. Since my oc was annoying to him, the knight killed her and left.
A necromancer came by and found out that her soul was flamed and burning for revenge, so the necromancer brought my character back to life as a graveborn. Upon rising, my characterâs body exploded into ghost fire.

Hate. Rage. Battle. The three things that Raum was raised upon as a lightbearer. Where the young ones made friends, was not the place for him. While kids played with dolls and made friends with pets, Raum preferred taking the sharpest of weapons and battling. The higher generals Hogan and Hendrik realized that Raum had a gift: a talent that only the strongest warriors contained. The talent to spill blood. The power to bring down other factions and cities with his bare hands. With that in mind, Raum was recruited as the Lightbearerâs own âspartanâ in the royal army. However, his spartan career ended during one war. One of the lower ranked generals, Edwin, had a sour view of raum. While the others saw raum as a powerful soldier, he saw Raum as a ruthless tyrant. A few days later, Edwin challenged Raum to a duel. The loser would leave the Lightbearer faction and would become an outcast to society. As Raum drew his spiked mace, he knew something was up. Edwin was secretly using a strength up potion. In a matter of minutes, Raum had struck Edwin down. As he raised his mace, Edwin moved. He rose up, and slashed his sword across Raumâs face. It mutilated his left eye, and as Raum fell onto the ground, he witnessed the traitor rise up and declare his victory. As the duelâs conditions had said, raum took his weapons, shield, and armor. He left the lightbearers behind in a cold winter night.
Days pass by and Raum was eventually growing weaker. With nobody to train with or no way of getting food, he was doomed. Until he saw the light that chose him: The Maulers. A tall lion humanoid and other soldiers were patrolling and captured Raum. They brought him to the head of the Mauler faction: Ankhira. Upon gazing at his injured form, ankhira commanded her footmen to point their weapons at Raum. The flaming tips of their spears tickled Raumâs skin. âWhy does a Lightbearer like you wish to tresspass among Mauler territory.â Ankhira spoke. âIâm not a Lightbearer anymore...â Raum responded. The soldiers brought their weapons closer due to Raumâs response, but Ankhira ceased them. âExplain yourself...â She said. Raum growled, âI will if you tell your soldiers to get the hell away from me.â The soldiers did that, and Raum stood up. âI was forced out of the Lightbearer faction, because of a traitor. He framed me against me own will... and here I am.â Raum spoke. Another voice cut in. âI assume you want revenge donât you...â raum turned his head to see the same lion walk towards him and Ankhira. âSo you think we should take him in as a soldier, Brutus?â Ankhira spoke. âSo thatâs his nameâ, Raum thought. âI have trained Khasos into a master warrior and anyone who trains with me can become stronger than anyone...â The so called Brutus responded. Silence washed over, then Ankhira silenced the room, saying her decision. âVery well... we shall take Raum under our Mauler wing.â Her gaze turns to Raum. âI sense your anger young one... welcome to the maulers.â

Unless thereâs some way for the living to be directly transformed into Graveborn without first dying, I donât see how both of those statements coexist.

I think your explanations would all be plausible and very satisfying except that the lore establishes Quaedam as the only path to undeath and the unequivocal, inescapable controller of what is essentially a hive mind.
So I suppose I canât say itâs the lore that doesnât make sense; itâs literally just the scope of Quaedamâs power that doesnât make sense in the context of the rest of the lore.

Quaedam to me makes pacts with those he sees worthy of his disposal of power, which implies not all Graveborns have made a pact with Quaedam. Example: Thoran. He died, yet wasn't resurrected by Quaedam, but rather Grezhul who did make the pact.
Baden was killed off, although resurrected by a necromancer, used to be controlled only by the necromancer, he eventually fought back and then got consumed by Quaedam's control
Niru died but made the pact, offered Shemira the nature of the Graveborn to her, and became Graveborn.
Vedan didn't die, neither make the pact, but ended up under the power of Quaedam, got Isabelle and Silvina to become Graveborn
Nara died by Seirus, and was offered the pact.
Mainly because of her nature of carnage

Itâs really this excerpt that messes everything up:

In my lore for him, he is the first and truly eldest Celestial taken in by Dura, and he is instructed to protect this hearth that holds an important flame, for he is the best representative to be the "Vessel of the Fire". Due to Dura's elusiveness and negligence to him, his faith in Her causes had been slightly corrupted, which made him absorb less of her power before Her death. He is Dura's right hand btw.
The "Vessel of the Fire" just means that they are a candidate to hold Dura's power in their being. My headcanon for this is that when a god or goddess dies, their purpose becomes extinct, so they make ways to preserve their purpose. When the First Hypogean War came, Dura already felt Her death drawing close, so she made a the "Flame of Life". The flame is a fraction of herself, so whenever her physical form dies, life may still exist because the fire is still present in the world. Casimir was tasked to protect this fire.
He's basically a heal-support hero battle-wise, because he holds Dura's divine powers

I also looked at the dates. That developer feedback was in September 12, and the Orthos & Celestial update was on September 20, I believe, since they Uploaded Orthos on Facebook on the 19th. It kinda adds up with what they're planning basically
And, Asniel was in peak highlight in that event, being stated in two separate lores (Again, in Orthros and Celestial Isles event), so his spotlight felt weird to me at that time.

Also, we don't know how many resources (people) are dedicated to this game, if they have 3 people with 30% of their time working on AFK arena updates, adding 1 single character is a lot of work, you need the new artwork, crop the artwork in pieces for animations, generate animations, sounds, visual fx (explosions, blossoms, the water ring and all that stuff), define status and how they scale in relation to lvl, behavior in battles, habilities, lore... then place the character in the game, test, balance and fine tune interacion with the rest of the characters...

I find his lore a really interesting and fresh addition! If there's ever a chance of another union involving characters who are already in one, I'd love to see one between him and numisu! (Not just bc of my biased screenname). They're both considered wise ones after all!
It also added alot of really cool tidbits of Mauler lore (the falcon tribe lore), and gave a genuine example of a united Mauler front. Though it does make me wonder if the symbol for the maulers in game is the flag Skriaths group was displaying?

If a characters attack is low but defense is high a damage over time mechanic can be really suiting to balance them, but there's so many good options that it can make the task seem daunting ahaha;;;

But because of his bounty, he decides the best way to go about things is to disguise his identity,, by wearing a dumb mask. THAT SOMEHOW WORKS, despite it making him look even more like a bandit
Except obviously Raine, who has more than 2 braincells unlike Jay, sees through the disguise like u h guys isn't that guy straight up a wanted criminal
But no one wants to touch Jay because his partner is literally 7 feet of pure wall

She's also really insecure and bashful honestly, but is so prideful and headstrong she would be so embarrassed if anyone remotely called her out on it. She really adores Fawkes, more than as a friend, but unfortunately that's really how he views her, as a friend, and so it is a big of an arc/embarrassment for her

Fawkes is really quiet and enigmatic, and most of the time just doesn't care, save for going along with Raine's interests. She generally knows what he's all about but even she has a hard time figuring out what he's thinking. He's almost like a background character since Raine and Mireal does most if not all the talking. HOWEVER
I think,, it would be hilarious. If Jeremiah actually ends up sparking an unintentional rivalry with Fawkes, like Jay is somehow so obnoxious that it actually unearths this extremely competitive side to Fawkes that actually freaks Raine out

Also depends which variant of the story the inspiration comes from. Newer variants have her as an archer but older have her as a healer or a treaty pawn that Arthur fell in love with before her naivety betrayed him.
