Isabella, unknowing the importance of the herb, ground it into a fine powder like she had seen Rosaline do before. She sprinkled it over the dish, and prepared to serve it to Rosaline.
"Oh, whats this?" said Rosaline, waking up. "'From Isabella.' How sweet of her. Now, lets get the Yggsadril branch..."
As she made her way to the kitchen, something felt wrong. She didn't feel the aura of calm that the branches usually emanated.

I KNEW there was some force behind the Graveborn. I don't rly like that they're all part of a hivemind but it does say that some (probably the heros) have a mind of their own, but still follow Quaedam. We have a ruler of the Graveborn now, though!
I don't like that he's called evil, but I like the focus on fear, that he was kind before, possibly (?), but because of his new form he felt like he had no choice.
He basically went from mortal to god and I really dig it. Can't imagine Annih is happy about it LOL
I guess that means Vedan and Isabelle are Graveborn simply by being necromancers, I bet Vedan made a deal of some kind with Quaedam, and Isabelle was just naturally gifted in the magic, or maybe Quaedam decided to give her a kind of blessing or curse at birth?
The Grave Vow must be a kind of "good within the terrifying" organization, vigilante style ressurecting people under Quaedam's orders.

@spiral minnow it is typically believed that silvina was the first to turn, as it is described in her backstory. several would haggle thats not correct, but no stories have exact explanations of the timeline regardless of what people say.
Like thinking Isabella and Silvina are like, 30+ simply because they died young and Estrilda is around the same age.
The sisters are still pre-pubescent bodies roughly, and simply live forever.

As far as Estrilda is concerned, I don't think there's any specific note on when Estrilda became a General for Esperia.
Just that she was apprenticed at about 15 or 16 in her story to become a knight.

I imagine Belinda had actually been jealously guarded by the Temple of Light once they got her amongst them. True she had freedom but they kept certain matters out of her hearing range or knowledge until they were certain she will be on board with them 100% (and if not just a little persuasion from the Light will help -cough- possession puppet -cough-)

Well, that’s pretty much what i was going for (i’m like bad at wording things right, it’s easier for me to draw to convey what i’m trying to say) but i personally think due to how Belinda is so attuned with the Light and her talents in it and how she’s basically a prodigy in it, I imagine the Temple of Light would loathe to lose such a promising and skilled Priestess from their ranks.
Oh yeah. No no. I think of it as like a last resort sort of thing if Belinda tries to leave the Temple. If she persists on questioning, shows doubt, or starts to turn away from them. They will of course first try to placate her, use honeyed words and twist the truth to persuade her. But the moment she fully pulls away, it would be a shame to see a priestess such as her “fall from grace” and they of course must “save her” from such a fall.
(I might be projecting a bit from my own experiences from various christian groups and churches i encountered with this sort of thinking. The temple of light just seems too scarily familiar to me)

I can see the connection between the temple of the light and the church, comoning from a Christian. Many leaders claiming to serve the Light/Christ while disobeying their main commands and rejecting their core values. It's sad, causes bad fealings for those they claim to serve, and attaches false ideas to them, while making it harder for loyal servents

Imagine the odd tension between graveborn Khasos and Belinda as he actually fights against her but always holds back his killing blows, always seems to just barely miss cutting her as she tries to break through to him. Then a mistake, a slip, and Belinda is under him pinned with an axe close to her throat but not cutting. Khasos glaring down at her with glowing green eyes but he can still cannot bring himself to kill her. Out of everyone he has ever faced, she was the only one he could not bring himself to kill. And he is angry, confused, and she seems so familiar. So familiar and beautiful to him. He wants desperately to hold and kiss her. Has he ever met her before? She is a Light in this darkness and Belinda dares to caress his face in that oh so painfully familiar way.
