The one thing I think that could be clarified is before your char hits lvl 60 or whenever the last skill is unlocked, how do the other skills fit in? I was gonna think Thane because he’s the Lightbringers’ best swordsman but Brutus’s opponent was described as “large for a man” and makes me think of Hogan. I feel like both Brutus's and Thane's opponents in their lore are their own people, though. Someone entirely separate. The world's pretty big. Could just be someone unnamed or an unreleased hero. Lots of the lore specifically states other characters, so I feel like if that were the case, especially with such mascot characters as Brutus or Thane, they'd be named in the lore.

@zenith pond the lore is really cool I like the idea of a necromancer sect dedicated to resurrecting Dura it’s very twisted lol. His skills need balancing though I think that shield on his second skill seems a little overpowered. I get this it’s trying to mirror Lucius but you have to remember that’s Lucius’s ult and his main role is healing/tanking. Your skills seem to be huge healing/support as well as massive damage. The Divine Patience skill could also be quite OP depending on how rapidly he gains attack but I guess that’ll end up depending on how it’s implemented.

Mostly I think the lore and char idea is awesome but skills need some balancing

Ok so like, real science-y for a min: I'm thinking that the arachin probably have fairly armored vital organs? Because to support the leg things coming from their backs, they probably need another set of scapulae to anchor them properly (and maybe bones to anchor those to the ribcage securely), and then the arms breach the skin probably where the acromion process is on a human shoulder? Or the acromion and coracoid processes merge and the glenoid fossa doesn't exist, and then at that point it kinda goes from bone embedded in muscle to an exoskeleton-type thing with muscle inside to move it, like a crab... Or a spider. And then of course the regular arms are just normal human arms with human anatomy.

Sorry if none of that makes sense to anyone else, I don't really know how to explain it in not-anatomical terms

I get it, the arachin need extra support on their back to keep their extra arms from "falling off". This could be done with a reinforced skeletole structure in the back. This would mean extra protection for the spinal cord and the back at the very least. The legs are definitely exoskeleton, which might not need as much support, but the body is human, thus indoskeleton, and would need extra skeletal reinforcement. This however does not mean they have armoured internal organs or that the skeletal additions protect give extra protection for the front of the body.

Yeah!!! Of course, I doubt that there's much protection in the front that humans don't have, but like, definitely in the back, otherwise there'd be a lot of injuries that they, given the time period from what we can tell, would not be able to treat and would be either permanently disabled or die from (you can only rely on magic for so long, after all). Considering how Ankhira seems so active when it comes to moving around the battlefield, I doubt they're nearly that fragile.

It is true majic as limits, and even then looking at majic using creachers none need their majic to live, unless used as a food source. The legs are definitely strong enough to support the arachin, though arachin are definitely one of the more frajile races thus reliance on coming and agility. The added protection relies on multiple factors, weight of legs, streangth of their bones, ext.

Lightbeares- devotion to the light, and industry. Focused to the development of city based, modern, civilization
Wilders- devotion to the forest, to nature itself. Focused on being one with their environment and protecting it from those who bring it harm.
Maulers- devotion to the laws of nature, primarily the darwinion law of survival of the fittest. Focused on survival and the pursuit of advantage over others, usually though use of their natural advantages
Graveborn- devoted to death, or the cheating of it. Focused on mastery of the primal forces as well as enforcing "natural law" and justice, through revenge.

Factions seem more like literal factions to me

All are part of Dura's creation, but have their own reasons to be against one another. She was born into a human society, which are overbearingly Lightbearers. And we know by Seirus that you have to at least be born into being a Wilder normally, as he's an 'honorary' one.

Inari has no such connection to Wilders as a faction, just a relationship with the forest. Her last paragraph even mentions the Light. Her kitsune may be a Wilder, but she herself? I couldn't see it.

The I treating thing about factions is one has a choice, it is note necessary chosen for you. As for Seirus his story said he and the other Wilders concider him a Wilder because their interests are the same the main group protects the forest and he the sea, both part of the natural relm. The idea honerary, where I see where it comes from,is not there. As for the light and nature, both are manefestations of the same thing, and Inari's light came from the kitsune's power flowing through her not from herself. Though ultimately the faction choice is not up to us but her creater Alice.

Finally just as the archanin, the Wilders only defended their home, their is no sign of a campaign against the hyperions outside of defending their home. The only ones who seem to mount a campaign as of now are the lightbearers and there is definitely no sign of unity or cooperation between the factions eather, the secrets of the forest story showed a level of hostility between the Wilders and the lightbearer task force sent to help. The lightbearers and the maulers where in the middle of a large war, the Wilders are isolationistic and the graveborn are persicuted by all three factions. There needs to be characters to bridge the gaps towards a unified force and so far I can only see two possible ones and one of them is inslaved by a litch.

Yes the demon worsepers show that. But also, and I'm drawing on my study of real-world magic here, raising a live is costly, and I mean very costly. Life isn't cheap it must come from some where, while some my draw soon energy from the celestials,or steal it from other men, others might go to the hyperions. Deomos will freely give if they know they can control you, while celestials would be more selective, chosing those who the dean worthy, and the final requires adiquite sacrifice of living beings with the right spells

That's why I said I wouldn't be surprised if a lot of them are demon worshippers, but then you have necromancers like Niru, who studied and studied, and later resurrected himself and his wife and child. Not to mention the entire undead faction, again, stems from Dura. There's definitely many ways to do it without demon influence, most of the graveborn heros we have don't seem to have made any deals aside from Grezhul, who we know traded his soul for a new life.

I don't think the celestials have any part in it, though

Maybe they do mabee they dont, grezhul's situation could be celestial due to the nature of his reserection,as a means of justice against evil men, though could be hyperion due to selling his soul. And as I mentioned the right sacrifice with the right spells is a way. But spontaneous reserection that needs a celestial or a hyperion behind it. The ones done for justice leans more celestial, others that defy justice, like Nara more hyperion

From what I can tell,
Lightbearers - a well ordered society based on on a feudal system. Main religion focuses around the light, and values honor through a chivalry system
Wilders - a peaceful society based on becoming one with nature. Relitivly isolationistic and druidic in nature
Maulers - a warrior society that focuses on survival of fitist, where the strong rule the weak
Graveborn- the reanimated/reserected. They have embraced death and came back, very individualistic

The grave vow seems decent, devotion to justice. Thoran was a decent king, though he did become consumed with anger. Grezhul is loyal to Thoran. Nuru was a desint guy who took things too far, and his wife is just a heartbroken widow. The sisters ferael and Baden are victims of evil people. All those seem redeemable and possible heros. Then you have Nara and Vedan who are evil to the core.

okay i think i polished her skills to where they make sense in writing and in order of unlocking

the order of unlocking is ult>skill 2>skill 3>skill 4 btw

i cant tell if shes too op or too gimmicky, bc shes both a tank/support and burst but at two different points in her skill cycle, not at once

also, her stats are pretty much abysmally low atk with high hp and decent defense
