And her story does explicitly state Niru wanted her to be with them. As in both Silvestre and himself. So I always assumed she forgave him, because I can only imagine he wants a good life with them. I don't really see him as an ass anywhere. Just a jaded war medic turning to a new form of magic. According to her story, she never saw him after he was accused and only met him again when he was Graveborn.

I mean, Shemira said that he committed "horrific" acts. But mainly it's because his small incisions went unnoticed with injuries of war. I guess that could be taken as like only small cuts, but I was thinking more like tons of clean cuts that can be hidden - for example, an incision over the heart or whatever. Not to mention how he was executed without much deliberation (despite his talent in the field).

And his parting thoughts made it seem like he was a psychopath. "It was beneath him to defend undertaking actions with such clear benefits."

I can't point to anything specific, but he just seems like he did really awful/gruesome stuff. Especially since we already know he was growing callous.

Lots of people are executed without fair trial today on even less, though not so much in terms of religion. Lots of people have been executed in history for even the slightest suspicion of magic use.

And as for him greeting death I mean. He's a necromancer. He knew he was coming back.

Many many field doctors go through Some Shit and come out with PTSD, I'm certain that's where that twistedness comes from.

As for him and his wife and child, I don't see any reason why he would have an ulterior motive. He says he comes to save Silvestre, but I guess we won't really know. But we do know Shemira at least forgave Niru some in the end, with how she acts in the end of her lore. And we don't see them interact outside of that. Another reason I really want more story, all this vagueness with them.

They make perfect sense for a union but there isn't one. And Shemira is super popular she'd be a great choice for a union. So they're either waiting on a third person or they don't want to give her one at all, which is odd, given that almost anyone else with mentioned connections has a union.
