yes and no, I did use a clear blender in some spots, on the lighter tan spots like on his tunic but mostly I prefer to use light colors as blenders, analogous ones. They do a really good job blending smoothly and don't take away from the more dramatic colors
when I want to mute colors, I tend to use white.
