i was trying to learn digital but i always find my lineart looking wrong and ugly so i just die inside

my method for lineart is the "f*ckit" method. just go for it with one long line instead of many tiny ones. one hand on the pencil, other hand is on the ctrl+z command. 😂 it's easier to just go for it and redo if the line isn't perfect.

i highly recommend going for the lineart like this

If you've seen Kita Senri's artwork (who originally did the artwork for SNK's Samurai Showdown where Nakoruru and Ukyo come from) her use of scanned pencil is what gives her that smooth, clean linelook. So to recreate that, I use a watercolor brush.

25 is what I use to draft with to get an overall shape
10 is my borders
7 is my default
5 is details

By using line variety (thickess) you can make your artwork have a little bit more depth

It doesn't look like much of a difference but overall, the thickness does help differentiate depths and overlap.

Also, by using a translucent brush you can layer it for a darker line to further add a bit of shadow or boldness.

Thank you. As for the 'hair' or plume, the sprite makes Skriath look terribly derpy and the balance is just... off. I tried to draft it in but it honestly made his head look like a fat baguette and his overall body shape became a T.
