The city Rustport is known for its bad reputation. But still rich families live there.
Jericho’s parents were aristocrats - successful bankers.
Jericho was a free-spirited young boy, freedom-lover and just an active curious boy that wanted to be a traveler and discover the world. But his parents always wanted their child to be obedient and become as prim and proper as they were. They were too rude to him, so he tried to resist. No one wants their will to be destroyed, and neither did Jericho. When he was 15, they had a huge quarrel, which climaxed when his father tried to hit him. After that, Jericho decided to run away from home. He took his dirtiest clothes and went onto the streets. For two weeks, he hid while his parents tried to find him; they didn't succeed.
By then, the boy had found a pirate ship and stowed away. He had always been in a thirst for adventure, so he sneaked aboard and hid among the barrels. When the pirates had returned, they found him and were going to throw him out, but Jericho begged them to accept him in their team, because be wanted to be as far away from his parents as possible and, of course, he wanted to go on adventures. Seeing the burning passion and desire in his eyes, the pirates made him a member of their team. Jericho was shocked but grateful.
Jericho started from the simple helper, gaining more authority and respect year after year. As time passed, he became a captain. He was a great leader: smart, brave, and lucky. He always found the best treasure chests and loot. Beyond his duties, he also always loved nature, especially sea creatures. He had always had food for every animal he met. He loved them, and they loved him in return.
But nothing lasts forever, and eventually, he fell out of fortune's favor. They were caught by a huge storm which damaged their ship. To make matters even worse, the storm also awakened the dangerous sea creatures from the deepest depths and also the Kraken and began to attack the ship. As captain, Jericho ordered his team to save themselves and stayed to die with his ship.
His corpse was found miles away after 6 months. He was covered with octopi and other sea creatures that were trying to save him. His body had started to shrivel, so he was creepily thin. Jericho was found by a necromancer that was familiar with the captain's achievements and his aristocrat roots. He thought that the man's blood would be very useful, so he planned to resurrect him to use it as a weapon later. He had no idea that Jericho's will and desire for adventure would be so powerful that he could just break free from the necromancer's control and return to the sea coast.
"Rise, my brave warrior."
When Jericho said that the sea depths opened up and his ship has appeared. After sailing for so long, his soul had become intertwined with the ship. He always felt a strong connection with everything and now, with his improved skills, he could finally release his abilities. The man stepped on aboard and ordered it to start moving.
Later, he found a new team, knowing that the previous one would dislike traveling with a graveborn. The sea creatures were much friendlier in his new unlife and, even the Kraken itself showed up to make amends. With his new graveborn status, he also has a better connection with sea creatures, which let him bond with this monster. With his new crew and his new loyal friend, Jericho set sail, searching for new adventures.
