shading just takes alot of time with a soft brush that grows darker and darker and if youre shading black start with a dark grey, and use the same colour just a tad darker with each stroke so it gently flows

Pretty sure artists who draw realistic art don't just merge everything down and usually try to keep some layers just in case if they need to correct things. Not to mention that art piece is definitely a picture of a real person. If it were art you'd be able to tell it is. All you did was take the head and hair of the photo and removed some of the hair.

Lightbeareres has Fawkes, Raine and Mirael

Teal, Red, and Hot Pink where everyone else is gold and blue

The Graveborn do have some variation, there's also reddish tones and cyan in some designs, like Ferael and Kelthur, Grezhul is mostly blue and silver.

But for the most part they do fall on a similar palette
