It’s difficult typing with an iPad) I like to explore different styles just to see which I like. Though the pencil tool I used was quite hard in texture so it may have sharpened the lines more than I intended.

I tried Sketchbook and hated it, currently use ibisPaint X for mobile and FireAlpaca for PC. Might try SAI at some point. Apparently it's really good

Medibang is honestly a lot better than FireaAlpaca
Medibang has cloud brush sets and supports comic artists. It will cloudsave every now and then just in case you close or Crash (not guaranteed to recover completely). It supported some of my good artworks from the 2014-2017 era

my sketches are what i call "floaty". lines do not connect, it would be a complete disaster to try and inverse select it unless i took a strenuous amount of time doing a thick contour line on the very outside of the subject.
as for "how long"- that depends on my subject.
ferael took a while to color because he has too many colors and i fussed over them more than i was actually coloring.
fawkes did not- his hair was white and there's barely any colors if you're not drawing his clothing along with.
on the rare occasion i DO something very painterly and refined, like the little brutus i did, it takes longer but its more careful
like if i guestimated ferael probably took around 15-20 minutes to color while fawkes was at minimum like t e n
but that also vaguely takes into account my ability to be distracted by youtube and discord

I prefer those without screens, and they're MUCH more cheaper than those with screens. Alternatively, if you do not have a computer to work with, others will also recommend iPads and buy the program called "ProCreate".
Tablets that don't have screens are like an extension for a mouse in a way, but with a pen as well

Many people will recommend larger surfaces to avoid discomfort and unfortunate carpal tunnel or similar difficulties from strenuous activity when drawing, especially if drawing for hours on end. It can be dreadful for artists. I went from a large tablet to a smaller one due to pocketability and easy to move with it.

if you're looking for a brand thats cost-friendly i recommend either Huion, Ugee or monoprice tablets. anything else is a bit iffy. Huions probably the best, they have decent tablets for a fraction of the price wacom asks for.

If you press down rlly hard, it is DEFINITELY going to go down quickly. I have never had to change a nib for a legitimate reason though.

Sometimes that doesn't work. The tablet's services can be attached to anything running sometimes and i just restart. It doesn't hurt anything of mine tho, my laptop restarts quick.

i wanted to say i planned on drawing a saveas x nemora piece for the art contest
basically just a typical anime tropes where the guy walking into the girl taking a bath lol, or in my case, saveas walks into nemora washing herself on a lake in wilder territory
wrote a whole paragraph about how saveas got into that specific situation but it got deleted after i fell asleep so i'm too lazy to rewrite it
