I went to Koenji yesterday. They say it's cheaper than shimokitazawa. You can smell the gentrification in the area, lots of construction -more and more businesses opening, though it still has a quaint old school vibe w shorter buildings and feels less gaijin-y (which is what us gaijins are looking for).
Anyway it was pretty good -especially male-type / unisex trend clothes. I bought a short a-line trench and a tee. And some repurposed blouses that they sell at all these shops -across Tokyo. They must buy them from same supplier as they're not the same store chains.
