If you are not such a confident cyclist then I would say do it over 2 or even 3 days. I am a fairly fit 20yo.
I did it over 2 days because I didn’t want to rush, started in Onomichi yesterday and got to Imabari today. I stayed in setoda which was about 30km in. Today I ended up doing around 60km because of the detour I took but there is no pressure to do that. It was probably about 8hrs of actual cycling for me but spread over 3 days that should be very manageable for most people.

If that still sounds daunting then u can always do it by e bike, just be aware some rental groups don’t allow multiple days on an e bike but it would be very comfortable to do in one day.

But I would say if u are happy to take on the challenge then go for it even if its a bit worrying. There are always bike taxis that will pick u up and carry you to where u need to be. Its very rewarding with a great sense of achievement and incredibly beautiful along the way. So if u have time I wouldn’t hesitate to go for it.

Ahaha IKR!! That last bridge was the first triple suspension bridge in the world and is 4km long but so beautiful. I was on it at about 3pm and it was amazing 😄 . Congrats on doing the whole thing, so rewarding.

Well said! I share the same the sentiment. I’m diff from Matteo hahah I am slow and old and not very good with bikes. I was able to do it in 2 days with one hike detour. I also got electric assisted bike but only used it for the tougher inclines, but some like Mt Shirataki, even with a system I can bike up, so I just walked.

They have multiple rental stations along the route in case you have an issue but I didn’t.

The rental spots I used were both right by the Train stations in Onomichi and Imabari so very easy to find.
