My advice is to always aim for one exit and you will eventually learn how it's laid out, then how the other exists are connected

The main thing is making sure you’re taking the right exit - a lot of the bigger stations will have several exit gates.

Also you can get from East to West to South completely without having to go back inside the fare gates, which you didn't used to be able to do
