Hello everyone. I arrive to Tokyo at 2:30 pm on the 23rd and wanted to plan a Thanksgiving dinner for that day to celebrate and share with anyone else who might be interested. First time in Japan, so I'm open to a y suggestions!

Yeah, definitely. We can do maybe withing 10-30 range. I'm thinking more of just getting together and enjoying a good meal. Me and @molten sundial happen to arrive on that same day so it would be nice to get together and meet people.

Hey! That's the day I arrive! I'm supposed to land at 4:25pm. I'm so down, I just don't know how long itll take me to get everything sorted at the airport and stuff and I don't want to keep you guys waiting!

It'll take a couple hours for you to get into Tokyo at the least. Customs can take some time. But fingers crossed!

honestly since tomorrow is a work holiday in japan and there are first timers in this group, let's focus on picking a place that won't get a bunch of traffic tomorrow, esp since if there will be 4+ people

Torikizoku is a cheap yakitori chain (various grilled meat and veggies on a skewer), and we can find one location in the roppongi area/shibuya and meet there

in my experience restaurants in japan are strict with reservations, i.e. the exact number has to show up and it has to be literally on time lol. so i think showing up at a chain restaurant might be easier

Bamiyan is also a good japanized chinese restaurant for largish groups, no frills, very english friendly!

Also down to join if there’s space—since there are so many torikizoku in shibuya, they can easily direct you to another location with available space if needed. I’ve done seven at one in the past. Just had to squeeze into a normally six-seater booth.
