I am here till the 13th. Honestly you can just check out the Michelin guide for places. Not only the ones with stars but the ones with Bib Gourmand awards which means they are high quality and a good value.

Also you can use tabelog.com which is what locals use to rate places. Just have to translate it.

The chef does not speak English and neither does most of the staff. They had one sous chef who was fluent in English.

Finished this sushi. Overall if Sugita was 9/10 this one was 5/10. Maybe if it was the first time I would rate it higher, but at 1/3 the price I cannot complain too much. Only thing they did better was the eel which they cooked over coals with the sweet sauce. Cook was much better.

I'm probably going to do that on my trip as well. How much time did you plan between the train and the boat tour? It seems like you can basically get off the train, hop on a bus ten minutes later and make it in time for the next boat tour. But I'm not sure if that's too tight.
