Discipad - bootloader and flashing

Looking for someone to help me thrash out how to get this flashed. It comes with the newest default bootloader for the arduino uno already loaded...but instructions appear to call for something different. (Usb asp)

I have two arduino uno's, but i'm very lost as to where to start, so would appreciate some direction or pointers. (Will keep post updated as i work on this)

Flashing on windows 11 (havent worked out the perma on my linux install yet)

I've previously tried flashing through the ardiuno ide, and that seemed to get a bootloader on it, but again still seem to need usb asp.
Would also be open to alternative solutions, i've been trying on and off to flash this bootloader over a few years.

you will need to connect another controller and you will need to connect it to the ATMEGA328P in order to flash it

you will not be able to flash the bootloader without connecting another arduino to the ATMEGA328P
