#Are Legendary Weapons underpowered?

So many Legendary Modules are the cornerstone of a build. Think Visions of Decay, Thundercore, Nexus Heart, Omni Manus, SH-8495, Eye of the Storm, Toxic Revenger, Wrath of the Fallen. They genuinely change how the player approaches building their ship.

This cannot be said of any weapon, except maybe for Devotion. And even it is relatively niche compared to its module counterparts.

In fact, it's gotten to the point where I view Legendary Weapons as "pollution" to the loot table.

Surely, these weapons deserve a better fate than this?

Suggestion: Why not link certain Legendary weapons to aspects of the game that are less "meta"? For instance, the Excessive Force perk is generally hard to justify, due to constantly taking damage in end-game content. What about changing the RGB Laser to also convert a percentage of damage deal into recharging shields? Suddenly, you open up an entire set of builds that revolve around RGB and a previously underutilised perk. (That's just one example, but I mean this as general feedback for most of the Legendary Weapons).

The only one coming close to be effective is the crimson sun altho i think a regular SF flak in the long run has a higher dps.. the others are underwhelming.. especially the autocannon..

Imo legendary weapons should adapt to sets if that set has the same weapon (or item).. so the set bonus&attributes+ the legendary trait.

That would give the legendary weapons (and items) the value they deserve.
