Doesn't work that way chief. To get the Anguish is a whole quest line that starts from Ethereal Manor and ends at the Tormented Asylum. You also need to not die at all once this quest line starts. For more informations about it visit the community wiki,if someonehas the Drans Dream can take you directly to take the Anguish. As for the ring to take it it means you failed to even start this quest line. Its either you go there and take the amulet instead and continue to do the Anguish quest line or you drink the liquid escape to take the ring.
