yup, that's true. And Familiar don't benefit from critical strike chance and critical damage. I made bug report about familiar too. Sometimes does not attack One True King too, but its more inconsistent.
No summons will benefit from generic critical strike. It has to be specifically skill or mod(depending on the summon).
This has always been the case and will likely not be changed. Just like mod summons don't get benefits from mutators that increase mod damage.

It is a mod. It's only mutator damage buffs that don't work
And it has to do with how they are coded in the game. It'd take a total restructuring of the system apparently and John said they just can't feasibly do that this late into the games life. Imo they should boost the base damage of the mods a little bit to compensate but that's just me.
