After picking first item game asks me to use it, by pressing "2", but the "2" above "Q" and "W" does nothing, the "2" on the numpad section of keyboard does also nothing. I tried to go to menu and rebind it, but I noticed that whatever key I press from the row above letters it say, that it is an invalid key, so it means that I can not use items, and that I am stuck in the tutorial zone, can you please fix this urgently, because I consider it game breaking issue, that prevents me from playing the game at all.

it could be you already used it and dont have anymore, in which case nothing'll happen when you pres 2/3/4/5

no matter which 2 I press nothing happens

and nothing is saved, so for every start of the game I need to walk that crippled start section, to get stuck here

it's talking about the one over wasd, not the num pad. tap, dont hold (not sure if this matters) but verify your game files. then try re-installing if that doesnt work. unplug your controller if you have one plugged in...

neither of the 2's do anything, pressing, or holding does not matter either, I have no controller connected, so I can not try unplugging a controller, the only 2 USB devices I have connected are keyboard and mouse
I tried reinstalling already 2 days ago before reporting the bug on the site steam support redirected me to, where it was closed with comment to report it on discord

try turning off the game, going into your windows explorer, paste %localappdata%\Remnant2\Saved\Config\Windows into the file location bar and delete GameUserSettings.ini file and restart

🤔 is it doing benchmark on every start, or during "normal" gameplay?
not related to the issue, I am just wondering, why the file contains some benchmark result few minutes after starting the game

it's checking your settings, are you changing any video settings?

Also, have you tried reinstalling?

no, I did not touch them, after deleting this file. On first installation I changed FSR to Quality

no it does not, and it does not matter if I try with shift or not, the game always show INVALID INPUT. and behind that the symbol on that key, it never shows a number

I don't think we officially support Czech Localization, so I'm guessing those symbols do not appear in our data base, so it's not that we've not "whitelisted" them, they just don't exist

Or why are you using the symbol instead of the scan code of the key? The scan code would be same for the key no matter the language.

Can not think of a game from any other company from last 20 years, that would have this issue.
Some show ▢, or ? instead of the actual key, some even print the full description of the character LATIN SMALL LETTER E WITH CARON, but can not think of a single example that would disallow using these keys

🤔 so if I dig up old English keyboard with second row of function keys (F13-F24) will these work? Keyboard layout have nothing to do with language localization, and as is shown on the image the default symbol for that key in Czech layout is in the game, and the game have no problem showing it

Honestly, there's no solution coming on our end. As I said we don't officially support Czech.

Oddly enough, do you happen to have a mouse with buttons on the side? Like an MMO mouse or something alike? Maybe the Czech localization still may cause a problem, but for myself at least, although it’s bound to key 2 I can press the 2 key on my mouse and it would work.

Sorry but I see a contradiction, in that, because the game recognizes that character, and computer is not sending a character to the game, depending on library you use for the input it does some these steps internally for you, but it always starts with Win32 message, that key was pressed, and scan code of the key, then the game asks windows what character belongs to that scan code, in current layout, then the game shows that character on screen, and this still works correctly to this point, ... something weird, that no other game does, then the game say INVALID INPUT., and refuses to bind it

no I do not have such mouse, but I can bind "weird" characters like ;é=´ú)ů§,.-, but not anything that is "reasonably" placed can not be used

Is there any anti-cheat or other BS for offline play? I do not want to be banned for fixing the issue by patching the game.
