I began playing on xbox gamepass for pc, I could play online fine. When I purchased the Ultimate Edition a few days ago the DLC didnt show up so I reinstalled the game. The DLC is there now but I am forced into offline mode every time I log on. If I select switching to friends only or online it takes me out of my game back to the menu and then it puts me offline again. It says link Epic account even though I play on xbox. I have tried clicking it anyways and nothing happens. I connected my xbox app account to my epic account. I went on Epic and removed the link to my steam account, (because I saw that in a reddit thread) tried clickin link epic account again, still nothing.

I read the entire pc connectivity section. I made sure my clock is set to auto sync. I have epic launcher installed. I went to the online sevices and ran the online services. I then saw the FAQ mentioning unreal engine which I do not have the latest version downloaded through Epic. I am downloading now and will report back if that fixes it.

You shouldn't need unreal engine, just the epic store and launcher

Thats what I figured. I have Epic Store and Launcher, it worked fine for weeks when I had gamepass before I bought the Ultimate Edition and reinstalled it.

reinstalled epic store/launcher, verified & repaired game file on xbox app, restarted pc, changed the email on my epic account to match the one from my xbox. still offline everytime, still nothing when i click 'link epic acount'
im pretty sure i never had the prompt to link epic account before when it was working fine so i think its tied to that but I have Epic and I've tried it every way with it linked to steam, not linked to steam, linked to xbox, not linked to xbox, linked to both, not linked to both. Still offline.

I am having the same issue aswell and I just wanted to check. When you had gamepass did you use it to play remnant 2? And did you buy ultimate edition with the 10% discount the gamepass gives?
also are you getting the fatal error crashes sometimes aswell as "online play restricted" when you try to open the lobby to everyone after launching it in offline mode?
do you still currently have the gamepass?

i did buy it with the discount from gamepass, i no longer have game pass, it crashed once and said online play restricted. I found a reddit page that said his remnant 2 no longer could go through public or private firewalls after buying the ultimate edition (they also were playing on pc gamepass before buying it). I checked and my remnant 2 also could not go through private or public firewalls, i changed that so it could and it still doesnt work for me but it did work for the guy in the reddit post so you can try that. im just giving up and playing solo, not worth all this hassle. shouldnt be this much of a pain in the ass to play online in 2024

Yeah this is litterally the exact same issue I am having, after game pass subscription ended the game refused to let me play online

super unfortunate, liked the game so much we bought it and now we are locked out of playing with other people. hope it gets fixed
