#Can anyone provide a clear explanation of what constitutes an Aura?

As far as I know :
AoE are things you can visually see and Auras are things you can't see
So yes handler buff is an aura for example
If anything is spreading out from the player it will be classified as Aura and it will be affected by Resonance trait, like the heal circle, Whirlwind of Spectral Blade.
^ This is more accurate than what I said
Awesome, thanks folks, that's a great start. I do wish it was a bit clearer in the ability or effect descriptions.
The spectral blade whirlwind is confirmed to be affected by amplitude
I'm confident this trait is bugged because there are aoe things that SHOULD be effected by either amplitude or resonance, but are not
Wow I had no idea Whirlwind of Spectral Blade was an aura, if it truly is I am going to go make silly builds now haha 🙂
Rock that Bolt Jamison build! Seems like a lot of fun. Maybe my 30th ravager kill will get me divergent heart and I can run it myself lol
So just to double check: Dreamcatcher's charged bubble would be an aura and sporeshot's cloud is an aoe?
What about Song of Eafir? AoE as well?
I am testing it live as we speak.
Dreamcatcher's charged bubble range increases with only Resonance.
Sporeshot's mod ability is very interesting: The initial AoE burst damage is only increased with Amplitude (so this portion is considered AoE) but the lingering poison damage cloud is increased with only Resonance (so this portion is considered an Aura).
Song of Eafir is a bit harder to test but I can confirm the lingering aura that pulses is effected by Resonance only (it's considered an Aura). I am willing to bet the initial damage portion of Song of Eafir is considered AoE though similar to the Sporeshot mod (I can't test it easily though because it doesn't show damage on the target dummies).
Song of Eafir's initial pulse damage is increased by Amplitude (so it's considered an AoE). I am unsure of the lingering pulse aura though.
Ah, you could test the Eafir AoE using the detonator amulet, that gives its initial damage burst a burning effect!
Awesome suggestion/pro tip, I’ll update with my results when I get home in a bit.
Song of Eafir's initial pulse damage is increased by Amplitude (so it's considered an AoE). I am unsure of the lingering pulse aura though. I thought earlier I tested the aura with Resonance and it increased it's distance but I can't seem to replicate it.
I have been able to replicate Song of Eafier's increase in range using Amplitude via testing with the Detonator Amulet.
Spectral Blade's neutral heavy attack is increased by Resonance by the way but not Amplitude.
