Game crashing and freezing entire PC

Hi guys. I've been looking for info all over the internet the past couple of weeks since I have been getting some bad crashes with this game only. I'm loving the game and have pushed through close to 90 hours but the crashing literally freezes my entire system and I'm forced to shut down my pc by holding the power button because nothing else responds. Only happens with this game.

Specs:
Intel(R) Core(TM) i9-10850K
Gigabyte RTX 3070 8gb

Running the game at 1440p @ 144hz on a mix of med/high settings. I have been monitoring temps and nothing is overheating (according to Speccy and GPUz/CPUz)

Some things I've done but still crashing:

• Recently moved the install to my C drive per some recommendations (1tb Western Digital WDS100T3X0C)

• Turned off Discord and Steam Overlays

• Running DLSS on Performance mode

• Forced Antialiasing off in Nvidia control panel

• Has happened on a mix of archetypes/weapons being used. Seems most prominent in Ward13 (especially when attempting to upgrade) but have crashed around the world

Any help would be appreciated! I'm loving the game but its getting increasingly difficult to enjoy when you dont know if you will lose progress (just lost out on a gold ribbon in co-op and had enough). Thank you in advance 🙂

Are you running anything overclocked or and auto overclocked turned on in your bios?

I haven't messed with overcloking on this build. I checked to see if there was anything auto overclocking and didnt see anything either. The AI overclocking bit at the top right only has a normal, and an optimized function so its either or. Its been on Normal the whole time

what settings are you using for graphics and shadow settings?

hmmm those should be fine, you could try turning off optimize performance in menus

also, do you every get an unreal crash window or does it always lock up your pc?

Yeah its odd, the game itself runs fine without any stutters or drops usually. Then it just freezes the whole system. Nothing responds (alt+tab, or trying to bring up task manager), and the RGB on the computer (iCUE powered) go blank so everything full stops.

Happens once or twice on the nights that I'm playing. I've been saving backups whenever we get to a worldstone since it has corrupted my save data once 😅

I'll try turning the menu optimization off!

honestly it's a last ditch option. Not super convinced it'll fix it. if there's no crash log there's not much for us to debug

Ah I guess. I did check since I saw another comment talking about a crash folder and you're right, there isn't one there for me.

we do have some more setting optimizations coming in our next patch, but without a crash log we're stabbing in the dark.

I assume you have the latest driver for your gpu?
