Using preexisting pieces right now to have a feel for size and whatnot, I don't want a hybrid omnithrottle, tho, so I'll be changing panels to fit the purpose. (reduce what would be the original palm rest and make an extension for the top or side panels so they offer a bit more area for the hand).
It's just a mockup to evaluate ideas. missing lots of things (like a roller at the bottom to provide the angular lock, since I'm using a round linear rail) Said roller will also provide configurable detent feedback, btw.
Movement dampening is done via a rack and pinion, rather than grease and pressure fit.
And of course some iterations later, it has little to do with the first mockup
Current version has:
100mm travel, using silent polymer bearing, and PU roller.
Regulable throttle body angle up to 45°.
Can be lifted 90° to get out of the seat.
Keeps track of the throttle position at all times, even if in upward setting.
Infinitely variable haptic detents on all it's travel lenght.
Will have regulable damper for that ideal feel of not too loose, not too slow movement.
Single point mount as the Tinkerjoy.
(current version is NOT ambidextrous right away, it requires a complete teardown to flip piece positions, but it is doable)

Later on, very probably. They do require metal fabrication, tho.
The 3D printed versions work to an extent, but when designing I have metal in mind, so the pieces are not overbuilt. I doubt the throttle clamps can actually hold the full arm weight in any plastic 3D printed form (as the sliding sleeve is smooth).
I mean, it may possibly work with either PEEK or carbon fiber reinforced filament, but I don't have access to those to test.
