Honda Odyssey 2001 EX won't stay on
-battery has been replaced
-alternator replaced in the summer
-when I got a new battery it was fine, but after I left it overnight it won't kick on again, boosted it and it turns on and then dash lights flicker and it's off again

#

transmission also seems to be cooked (transmission sticking/slipping, fluid smells sweet and is still pink, perhaps needs drain and fill but currently stuck in limp mode)

#

just replaced fuse for instruments as well as those went out - old fuse looks like this though, but instruments work again

To make sure we don’t accidentally conflate two issues. Does the car stall out when it’s in park? And can you fire it up, put it in neutral, confirm that it also stalls in neutral?

#

Also, do you have access to a multimeter?

have not tested in neutral
I do not currently have a multimeter with me

#

it is worth noting though that the dash started flickering like my car does right before its about to die over the last minute or two of driving, the last time i was able to drive it - then when i shut it off i wasnt able to get it running for longer than 20s again

#

i also lost my instruments at that point in time and was able to replace the fuse today which restored them

I know you said the alternator is new and battery is new, although you’re at a point where you want to pull them both out and get them both tested. Outside chance the one of them was bad off the shelf and good to start there. Parts store should be able to bench test the alternator but call them before you go just to make sure

Pretty sure you’re going to be chasing some type of short or draw but good to rule out the basics first.
