Whatever you do, get a respirator for while you’re working on this, as well as goggles and I assume you have rubber gloves.
You’re probably in for stripping everything soft out of the interior and replacing it, or cleaning on a piece by piece basis. The carpet especially is where I’d have concerns about getting all the mold out
Sprinkle baking soda on it, vacuum it up, then use something like a Bissel with white vinegar and warm water
I’d imagine with the seats out you can fairly easily scrub them with a gentle brush and similar white vinegar mixture, and also get you easier access to the rest of the interior so you can do a similar job on the other surfaces
Started on taking the seats out, luckily it seems to be all surface mold, so ive been a bit lazy and arranged a local professional detailing group to come clean it out next Saturday and assess if I need to remove the carpet
Just first time dealing with mold, normally I Finnish builds before they get the chance to grow mold but after finding the heads were fried on this rebuild the machine shop is taking forever to return them
Thanks tho, think it will be ok because I dont see much black mold.
Never using a car cover again.
Sweet - yeah if it’s just surface mold you’re in good shape with a little effort to clean it. Sounds like you got to it just in time. Good luck!
