The truck seems pretty solid, those engines can have some afm issues which are fairly straightforward to fix at home if you feel confident to tackle it, but shouldn’t be much of an issue at that mileage. The biggest thing I’d look at is right above the wheels on the bedside as it’s a common place for rust and under the truck in general as gm trucks tend to rust a bit sooner than their competition

This generation is known for transmission issues. Mileage doesnt seem bad. Not for the year or the price. The 5.3 is a great cheap to work on and maintain motor. Shouldnt have many issues on that end. Tires look a little worn. Hard to confirm though. they look a little dry and cracked.

Agree with Gobs rust asessment. Also would make sure all the door seals are in good shape, as they can be a pain to acquire. Looks like some moderate damage on the passenger side of the Bed.

For 8K, I wouldnt be upset. But be prepared for a $2K Trans rebuild at any moment. It could be fine forever, or it could go tomorrow.

Pretty good, just make sure the combobulator isn’t rusty. That’s the main component that tends to rust in these big trucks @olive garnet

Literally every year silverado after like 1989 has transmission issues, most are fixed by a shift kit, tune, new converter or a combination
