That is definitely not there from the factory. Impossible to know what it’s powering, but gps tracker is a possibility. The plug is likely an inline fuse. You can follow the red wires to see where they go to recover the device and confirm your suspicion.

Correct, someone added that. I’ve seen similar wiring for dash cams, radar detectors, and other such devices, which is why we can’t say for sure it’s the GPS tracker. You’ll know when you follow those wires though.

anyway i pulled the plug out and it turned the dash cam off

and it started coming up with traction control off, emergency assistance unavailable 😂

Ok, so a few possibilities. The GPS tracker may be battery powered, or it may be wired in somewhere else. Under the hood, are there any unusual wires connected to the battery maybe? That’s a good spot to start looking.
