2017 Golf R mk 7 : turbo issue?

Hey guys there's this weird sound that's started coming from the engine when the turbo spools up

you mean the whistle?

could be air escaping from the turbo system, check that all the pipes connected to the turbo are in place and not leaking

Well it started after a the intake pipe came off loose but it's put back and now its fine

This is how it used to sound before, the turbo whistle was much louder and not whiny

Check yo diverter valve

As freakazoid pointed out the diverter valve, but also I’d also check all of your piping and boots to make sure it’s not leaking somewhere
