Hey everyone,

I’m a 17-year-old from Belgium, and I’m looking to buy a classic car as my first ride. Since my budget is pretty limited, I know I’ll probably end up with a car that has some issues—things like rust, engine problems, or worn-out parts. I won’t be able to afford taking it to a mechanic all the time, so I really want to learn how to fix and maintain it myself.

Where should I start? What are the essential skills and tools I need as a beginner? Are there any good websites, forums, or books you’d recommend for learning about car maintenance and repairs?

I’d love to hear any advice from experienced DIY mechanics. Thanks in advance!
