Does anybody here know how to replace the steering rack wiring harness or how to splice and solder a connector?
One of the connector's 'clippings?' you have to pull back to unclip the connector broke after pulling back, to put it back in seated all the way properly, you have to push it back forward then reconnect. So now I have a stiff wheel , being an 08 the plastic was quite brittle .

Can you post a picture of the connector you’re dealing with? Did you break a connector and are looking for the way to repair?

Ok great, so I think I am understanding that the connector currently on your car is broken, so without that red retaining clip mechanism it’s not fully seating on there? Your question is how to either replace the harness or replace the connector?
I’d expect if you can get a replacement harness it should be plug and play, but I’d do the job with the battery disconnected just in case. You can compare the picture of the harness and follow the wiring around the engine bay until you’ve found each of the ends of the harness and you’ll have a good idea what will be involved in the replacement job.
