So this car overheated like 3 months ago. No the heat sensor did not rise at all, so yes she got pretty hot haha. After cooling down for quite a while, she was turning over just fine, but not starting, so like an idiot, i trued and tried and tried until she was all the way dead. After getting the best friend ever to rope tow her home, I tried and tried to start her while also gathering obd2 code information. Just got a basic walmart crappy scanner. So anyways, I've done the whole starter relay diagnostic etc... but this damn car WILL NOT START! I'm an electrician by trade, so I started going through and replacing a bunch of wire that melted. No security light... 100,000 miles about... so what it does is just clicks repeatedly while i hold the key in the start position.

Well, that's what it used to do to be honest... i got a little obsessed with checking out wiring, because this is the worste time to be stuck walking and I've got no alternative. I took every connection loose from the steering column. Not knowing allot about mechanics, but having an obsession for finding a short or corroded ground wire, I removed the tire pressure reciever/ key fob reciever. Then I got currious and opened it and inevitably screwed the copper coiling wire up to way beyond repair. My fob worked previously. And despite my best attempt to place it back where it went and reconne t its wiring, now all I've got is an alarm that won't shut off when i connect the battery. I was getting the po700 - the p0882 and - I can't remember now the third code, my apologies. So anyways, now i plan to find another reciever but I'm not sure if I'll need to reprogram the only key I've got or what? And then that's just the beginning lol. I try so hard, I promise... but lately vehicles been kicking my arss!!! Thank you sincerely for any help in advance. I've read could be tipm, pcm, short, loose ground... etc etc. Really wish i knew better what specifically I should be looking for in this situation...

Just from doing a little research, it seems the two codes you provided are related to the Transmission Control Module (TCM) and your P0882 code indicates a problem with communication between the Engine Control Module (ECU) and your TCM. If you have a good enough scanner, maybe try running some graphs to see if you can find a fault in a sensor, wire, or ground?

Thank you. My scanner is basically junk unfortunately

I would suggest taking it to your nearest mechanic shop, they may have a scanner that you need.
