Strange intermittent issue here where the transmission will randomly disengage while in drive. I can gun it at full power through all the gears and it will feel just totally perfect and nice for 15 or 20 minutes but then randomly disengages at some point.
- Transmission fluid is full and doesn't look or smell totally terrible, but not great.
- Selecting 1st or 2nd works fine
- Once it's in gear it's totally solid, no slipping, jerking, or bad noises.
- If I rev it up to 5-6k after this happens, the OD light will start flashing with code P0734 - "Gear 4 incorrect ratio" (But only if I rev it for a bit, so I think this is just symptomatic and not a direct indication of the issue).
- When it's in this state, there is no 3500rpm rev limiter like there would be in neutral.
- The column shifter is very loose and the needle doesn't point directly at the selected gear, but you can feel it positively engage. Wiggling it or shifting to neutral and back doesn't do anything once it disengages.
- Seems to happen when hitting bumps, but hard to tell.
- Seems to behave better when OD is disabled, but still comes and goes.
- I tried a spare 4x4 shift actuator because I was getting a code for that before. Gone now.
I'm tempted to just try a new valve body but I don't know if there could be some common electrical thing, or maybe the loose column shifter is doing something?
