2000 Jeep Cherokee 4.0

Car has been sitting for a couple months
Just replaced a few brake lines and got a new battery; fired it up and it sounds like it developed a massive air leak from sitting; it sounds and feels like it’s coming from inside the intake, throwing a code for idle air control but usually when I’ve experienced IAC codes the engine is bogging and stalling, the air leak is so loud it’s over shadowing the engine running in the video, a leak this loud you would think it’s loose at the block or the intake cracked but I don’t believe it’s either of the two; what do you guys think??

EDIT I didn’t feel any air suction around the intake in the video and the exhaust header is not cracked; Boot is not cracked, air filter is clean

Sounds like a stuck pvc valve but this car doesn’t have that or a cracked throttle body but I’m pretty positive the TBi is fine because it was not cracked when it was parked to sit the last time. I swapped the engine while owning this jeep so I have alot of old parts including a extra throttle body to test with and another IAC I’m gonna stick in there

Your doing the right thing checking every single hose

#

Might be time to smoke the system and see where it is coming from from

A DIY smoke tester for your car can cheaply and easily be made for around $10. This smoke tester can help identify vacuum leaks, boost leaks, evap leaks and more and is really simple to make! In this episode we show you how to make your own smoke tester machine and save hundreds vs taking it to the mechanic or buying a pre-made machine.
