Whoopsie my German Auto correction Has done me dirty
If you are from Germany, good luck with TUV documentation
As long as you have proper documents inside EU, you should be good
hmm, i heard it shouldnt be such a big issue as long as the engine was also in the same typo car
But I think you'd also need installation verification from mechanic and an essay about this xD
Ooooo, my friend is a Tüv guy so no prob i guess haha
Hey, I might be wrong, I am from Slovenia, the things here are way more strict than in Germany, so... just talking from my experience 😂
u sure? i believe german tüv is the hardest to get trough then in any other part of the world
Yeah, in Germany you guys also accept other documentation
well shit
here in Slovenia, strictly TUV or ABT ( something like that )
ill talk to my buddy, else ill let that be on this one and get myself a coupe in the next few years
do you guys do the H number plate thing? so historic cars get it and pay less tax
GG @worn raft, you just advanced to level 8! Chat more to level up and earn top roles!
I mean, you could always try 🤷♂️
Yeah, oldtimer certificate
Car has to be older than 30 years and must have at least like 60% original parts?
do you think im able to get that if i get the audi 90 front and rear? i mean its been done in that time frame + its technicaly the same modell of car
older then 30 years ye but im not sure about the original parts thing, i believe even more %
If you change the front and back bumpers you should be good, but you'd need to do it before getting the oldtimer certificate
ye
Depends how different it is, etc.
I changed a lot of stuff already on my Golf MK3 and it's still eligable for it..
Oh yeah that would be dope and would 100% go through for sure
GG @open coral, you just advanced to level 3! Chat more to level up and earn top roles!
alrighty
also, painting the car in a non standart color works? the one i have rn is the original one, its like some titan metallic stuff
i wanna do the Subaru deep blue metallic kinda color, my rims are off rn, they will end up white
Your car needs to have at least 70% original colors, that ARE VISIBLE on it, rest can be done without homologation
If you are thinking of repainting your car, then you need to get it verified, which might cost some, but hey, at least it's what you like
but is the color oldtimer certificate relevant?
Today I paid around 80 euro for new homologation documents, I believe your car should be around the same as we both have almost same year car with same papers
So it should be quite cheap for certain things
👍
Not sure about that, but I doubt it would be
sounds fun
The only issue is, if you verify it as an oldtimer, you can't change anything else then...
alrighty, maybe in near future once im done with this ill get a coupe and like change it to fit a sport quattros visual lmfao
oh, does re-verification work?
You could try getting LC5L color as that is VW as well, might look good on your audi too
or other question, how do they know if i changed anything
Each part has their own serial number, that's how xD
Yeah, but depending on your % of original parts, the benefits are lower or higher
SO if your car is 100% original, you'd get 100% of the benefits Germany offers
i mean as i said i got a friend wich is a tüv dude xD
so i can tell you what i changed, it literally only would be the bumbers and uh the tailpipe
I don't think you will find TUV for bumpers tho
mufflers are the same
Especially if you are going to take from AUDI 90 and put on AUDI 80..
i think i dont even need to let it inspected with it, my papers tell me "AUDI 80/90 Typ 89"
so technicaly its the same car lol
Well, honestly, most of the mods that aren't obvious wont get noticed
If the structure of the car remains the same, they dont give a shit when inspecting
hmm right
By the law of EU, whatever you would change, you would need to get papers for, which is dumb
Even if you change original part with same part
yeah kinda stupid, ill ask in the audi forum about that, many MANY people have done that
Well, try it xD
gimme a sec
For how much did you buy your Audi? I want to buy one too in near future
that one also used to be an 80
750 xD but i did ALOT ALOT of stuff, if you arent so picky you can get some pretty good condition ones for about 1k
my goal is to save this car, it had 9 owners and i kinda feel like it got sold once a small issue appeared, last one sold it due to the thermostat being open
i still gotta do the suspension and front breaks then im done with the technical stuff, after that ill spend my life savings on optical stuff
2.9k for 1.6 turbo diesel 😂
but i think its worth, i get to customize my car how I like it and also it goes up in value, good condition ones go for like 5-8k
I get you man, same with my car
actually ive heard that the 1.6 tdi goes for more then 1.8s lol
There is even a 1.9tdi on sale, for 400 only
i picked up the urquattro/b2 rims for 70 bucks, i let them off for powder coding and now they are mint
Abt this powder coding, does this last through the winter?
yes ofc, its the best way to save rims iirc
I done the same to my BBS and idk if its safe to usr throughout the winter 😂
My uncle and mother keep telling me to switch the
it is, but i wouldnt really do it due to the salt they put on the ground
that stuff is chemicaly aggresive
i am gonna do it tho, my speedlines are off to be done white as i said, they are for summer
I was thinking of buying new set of wheels just for winter xD
Be careful, they might have been broken, restored and after time they could fall apart or have cracks
nah, i saw the car they were on
the owner passed away, car was rotting in a garage and its unsavable due to rust
Aha okay
its honestly fun restoring a car
my first car ever was a chrysler lebaron, but i didnt have space to put it since it had no tüv, now i got this... im 17 lmfao
i also put new cothing on the rear doors since the old one was stripping off
Where did you buy the clothing?
I was thinking of buying a new set but only for certain parts as rest is still okay
got it off amazon lmfao
It has double sided tape?
but its fine enough, i dont sit in the back anyways, only for asthetics
yes
Pretty nice
i can search for link if you want
I colored my roof top interior as it needed restoration
I have to see first where Id even put it xD
So no need right now, thanks tho
woah im scared off that, mine is still fine but i kinda wanna renew it.... since it has a sunroof tho i dont think i will
complicated to remove
Mine came out really good, based on my likings
yoooo that looks cool af
Not sure about your Audi, should be similar to Golf, removing the side panels and then it should fall off
i think so ye but remove seats and all idk
Why would you remove seats??
GG @open coral, you just advanced to level 4! Chat more to level up and earn top roles!
coz there is no way to pull it out
You don't need to pull it out entirely, just get it out of the way so that you can get it out and back inside 😉
i also have a big struggle with the central locking
Let me guess, you lock the car and its unlocked?
so the previous owner didnt even know it had it, i was looking for stuff and found a pump in the back, i put the circuit breaker back in and tuend the key around.... front 2 doors worked, back ones were weird, one locked other one didnt, after tapping it a bit it also wend down..... the fuel cap locked
then when unlocking, front doors worked, back ones uh one worked, the other one i had to pull a bit then it worked, and fuel cap didnt unlock
or lets say the fuel cap is a bit random, if i didnt use the central lock for a time it unlocks but after a few times it doesnt
the whole system uses a Vacuum pump, ill have to see if one of the tubes looses air
Vacuum pump for central lock system? Never heard of that
I only know for electric motors one with signal box and like a wire one that pulls down or up
yeah thats the fun part
mine is a vacuum pump with tubes going to every lock in the car
when you turn around the motor you can hear the pump infact working in the back
Yeah that's pretty common for german cars
My audi is that way and my bmw probably is too
@open coral found the leak
that red part was lose, loosing air
also finally i put theese on after i saw my central lock works xD
@worn raft do you have a key fob
👍👍
So you mean for wireless unlocking of the Car?
Nah i dont
I don't know about the B3 but my B5 does
FWD or Quattro?
The engine will bolt in and into the motor mounts, radiator is different I’m pretty sure
Gonna have to get a Audi 90 wiring harness for the NA 5 cylinder
If I were you, I’d just put a 16v 9A in it
Fwd kekw
Same transmission as my fox
What about this?
Yah that’s what I meant
I’d get that and the ecu and everything for it if you want to swap your 90
Shouldn’t be too hard to find
But what else do i need for that? Id guess its less of a pain then swapping the 5 cylinder
