I’m making this post both asking for advice and to get some answers as to what might me wrong so i’m sorry if this is so long 🫤. I’ve had this car for over a year and up until 2-3 months ago it hasn’t given me much of an issue. However lately my battery has been dying very fast. i got a brand new battery 3-4 months ago and it’s already dead and this is the second one. the first battery was given to me and it died in a pretty short time. each time it died i took it to get charged all was well for a few weeks and slowly the car would take longer to start until it just had no power. my dad suspected it was the battery terminals being too lose for a long period of time. they’re pretty rusted and don’t tighten very easily. recently we fully tightened them and the car still died regardless. i’m wondering if i should replace the terminals myself and see if that’s really solves the issues or if it’s the alternator. along with this my car needs new tires, tire rotation, oil change, has a coolant leak, and needs new break pads 😃. At this point i’m wondering if i should just cut my losses and sell it and get a new car. i payed $3k for it for more context. If anyone had any comments or advice i’d appreciate it !

You can take the alternator + battery to an auto parts shop and theyll test it for free
Also if the battery terminals are rusted then you should either clean them or replace them

always knew you could take the battery to be tested but not the alternator !

hopefully its just the battery terminals needing to be cleaned and tightened TCC_PepePray
