Hey boys, could someone explain to me how does a Golf 6 2.0 tdi works ? Like there are no metal rod (1st picture) which moves the gear selector on the gearbox and it's just a soft kind of tube (2nd pic)(?)
I'm tryna find some quick/shortshifter and i don't understand at all how it works and what kind of gear selector it is

Great question! The flexible cables are actually a fixed length sheath with a cable inside of it, the cable inside can extend and retract as the stick moves. One cable is for horizontal movement of the stick, the other is for vertical movement of the stick. At the transmission end, it actuates the selector arm using the horizontal and vertical movements of those two cables.

But I still have some questions left.. does short/quickshifter for these type of gear shift exist for " cheap price " (like gear shift using rods and not cables ) ?
