Throttle response is just god awful

What if I make it interesting. I'll PayPal $20 to the first person to solve the problem.
fuel pressure is good, what about the MAF sensor or whatever equivalent the fiero has?
They've got MAP, the voltage readings seem fine on it
It controls fuel flow too maf doesn't exist on fiero so the good fuel pressure makes me think it's good
alrighty then, so the MAP is out. Have you checked the distributor/ignition coils and the ignition wires going to the spark plugs? What about the EGR? My miata had a clogged EGR valve along with a failed coil pack and i had similar symptoms (rough idle, wouldn't go above 30mph, would die at idle, etc)
EGR is deleted and blocked with a plate, and the entire timing system is brand new and in-time
I like your thinking though with intake. Maybe I'll check the TCS
TCS was off by like .2 v and has now been recalibrated. It helped a lot but not enough. You might be right about the MAP. I'll order one and see if it helps.
I know you said timing is new but have you checked spark? What have you done to any components related to the distributor or ignition coil?
New distributor, cable, Cap, wires, and plugs. I manually gapped them too. I manually set TDC then fine tuned it with a timing light
I can drive around town if I'm extra extra soft on the throttle but I get like maybe 10 HP
Gosh, it might actually be the map, the connectors cracked... I really don't want to buy a new one though. I'll put in the new connector tomorrow and a new O2 sensor tomorrow. If that doesn't help I'll order a new map sensor. If that doesn't help, I'm out of ideas.
Yeah keep us posted, I’m curious
O2 sensor seems to have done the trick for the most part.
Still waaaaaay underpowered but I'm within reasonable margin enough that it's probably just tweaking things here and there + cleaning out the fuel system
Hell yeah
Oooookay
So it started doing it again, and also when I filled up with gas a ton of gas just spilled from my gas tank itself?!?
I'm gonna replace the map cable and then I guess dismantle my entire fuel system with only 2 jack stands and a lot of luck
Map cable didn't help.
Alright I'm out of ideas again. I don't see how it could run perfectly after changing the O2 sensor then it just randomly decide it's not going to run well anymore without me changing anything
check the intake air temp sensor and the coolant temperature sensor (the ecu one specifically, the fiero has like three). they're used to calculate how much fuel to inject
Will do for sure.
Started going back to it.
GG @obsidian magnet, you just advanced to level 10! Chat more to level up and earn top roles!
All the sensors are replaced and new. Car won't start now.
Alternatively if anyone wants to buy this POS.
How much
Running and in good condition they go for 5-7 I'm thinking around 3k. The engines fine, I just don't have the skill clearly to deal with it.
Most sensors and parts are new. It's got a removable steering wheel in there too. Rust free frame
the thing is, ive had it run great before. then it literally just stopped doing that.
Running? Didn’t you say it doesn’t start
I was saying that this car in good condition goes for that much if it did run.
But it doesn't so I'm discounting it 50%
Oh
Ok the fuel pump stopped coming on. So that's nice.
