Could go either way. Sometimes owners aren’t willing to sell or entertain the idea, and sometimes they’re happy to lighten their asset load. But when you approach the owner, make sure you have a figure in mind and can produce cash immediately. Don’t say the figure right away until asked, but you don’t want to convince them to entertain a sale and then depend on them to come up with a price.

thanks:) im not sure how to determine a price fair for both me and the owner with no history. Did some quick research and it seems like im my area theyre selling for 15-25k, good working condition. Im not quite sure how to approach the owner either… the past car i bought had an ad 😂

Ah. I can’t help with finding a value as I have no context of the Hilux market, but approaching the owner can just be knocking on the door. Introduce yourself, get right to the point. “Would you be willing to entertain selling the Hilux?” If they say No, ok, have a nice day. Easy and quick.
