In your price range, as you are discovering, you have all high mileage stuff. Thats ok. The trick is to not spend your entire budget, and get a pre purchase inspection. That way, you’ll have a decent chance of getting in front of whatever service it will need, and you’ll have the money to cover it. Worst thing in the world is spending your whole budget on the car and it needs $500-1000 in repairs right away.

And yes, around 20k KM per year, is a pretty normal mileage. Your example of that 2012 car is perfectly within expectation of a car that age.
