#Car Start Troubles

For the last 5 years I’ve had my car, a Subaru Forester 2009, It’s my first car and has around 139,000 miles on it.

In the winters is always the worst because my battery seems to die twice a winter. I replace the battery every winter and the problem still occurs. ( get a stronger battery every winter)
We have to jump start it if it gets below 32F

My cats are broke and one of the two exhausts are clogged. Those are the only problems with it right now besides whatever is happening right now. We hooked it up to the computer and we don’t see anything draining it at all. I turn off everything in my car so nothing should drain it at all.

I’ve had my father, grandfather, and multiple repair shops look at it. They all find nothing wrong and I don’t know what to do. I have college to get to and can’t afford to miss a class due to my car not starting.

The only thing I can think of that I might try to work on is starting it once a day when I’m not using it. Does anyone have any idea what I can do to solve this?

Batteries die fast in the winter. I have seen new cars have their batteries die when left out in the lot.

Do you park in a garage or outside?

You could take your battery out every time you get back home to keep it warm, or even charge it.

#

I have a friend who does that. Just an extra 5min thing to do each day. Not bad

Only problem is the digital clock; but you have a phone for that 🤷‍♂️

Any thoughts on using a trickle charger for the battery? I’m not sure how effective that is during the winter I’ve only had my car have issues starting a few times
