I drive a Volvo S60 2014 and never seen the “check engine” light come up in 6-7 years of first getting the car.
Of course, like a knob-head, I wanted to see what would happen if I slammed the gas pedal while going 60-70mph on the freeway.
I kept speeding up, and then I got a warning message that said:
“Reduce Speed or Shift Up”
Of course, I saw the check engine light on, and slowed down. And, of course, my car started to vibrate while slowing down. Once I got to a consistent 50mph, I did not feel any more rumbling, and the check engine light went away.
The RPM is measured by x1000 (whatever that means I know it’s revolutions per minute or something) and normally it’s around 1-2 while on the freeway, but the RPM was around 3-4.
I never drive like this, so this is something I need to ask, ya know?
I did park my car, and start it back up, and found no issues with it or the engine. The check engine light has not come back at all. Of course, I will have to drive a bit tomorrow so I should see if it comes back then.
Was I just being stupid? Pushing my 96k miles car too far?
I treat this thing like a child, I don’t fuck with it at all. Lol.
I just gotta know, if the thing with the engine light is something I should be worried about?
OR that light came on because I’m a weetood and it won’t happen again unless I do it again.
