Hello! My wheel is bent so I’m looking into replacements! I’ve been reading forums and it seems like the general consensus is that 15s are the way to go. I was looking at the time attacks which are 15x8 do anyone know if that width is too much? I was looking to get a 195/50 tire. I’ve read mixed things, I would like to know if this is reasonable, safe, and whether it would feel terrible or not? I know this is really specific and maybe a dumb question but if anyone could provide insight that would be really kind 🙂

P.S. running on stock suspension may be a little different since it was replaced by last owner but it looks pretty close to stock, a lot of wheel gap

195 is a really skinny tire for an 8 inch rim, you will have a lot of stretch which will help with clearance issues but considering you aren't lowered yet this shouldn't even be an issue at all. You could also buy a 7 inch wide rim so the 195 tire looks beefier and has more contact patch.

Thank you, I managed to find it in very good condition! Also thank you for the big response, I would’ve responded sooner but I’ve been so busy. But I have plans in the very distant future to change suspension but it seems like the previous owner had the struts replaced, so it’s not terrible high on the list. I was planning on buying a 15x7 but the ones I’m looking at don’t come in that size sadly so I think I’m gonna just do the 15x8 so you think it’ll be a terrible contact patch to the point where it’s dangerous if I use a 195 tire?

I was looking at these

Hey you were totally right I was a bit confused earlier but I’ve been doing research. I didn’t realize what you meant by stretch and exactly how much but I now see. That is way too much stretch. So you think that a tire like the one you linked would be good? 206/65/r15 cause those look good, I hate the stretched look also want to protect my rims. You think that with a tire size like that I would have my rims protected?

jeez 195 on a 15x8 would be stretched lol like xch said
i got 225/60r15s on my 15x7 and i got a bit of tire protecting the rim

I run 255/ width tires that are pinched(opposite of stretched) on a 8" wheel. 205 are very narrow on a 8" wheel. Are you certain a 8" wide wheel is going to fit on a del sol?

#

On of my cars that came with 8" wide wheels had 235 from the factory which is pretty normal for that width.

#

The wheels you are look at with 0 offset will be extending over 2.5" past the face of the current wheel. I'm skeptical that will work or even look good. It will also toss rocks all along the side of the car as well.

There are many pics of del sols who run a 15x8 with either a 195 or 205 tire and it doesn't look strechted to much. Also the owners say it will clear without any modifications

It will probably clear with 0 offset its the pokey out of the wheel wells that looks bad IMO.
