hey guys so this time its not my jeep lol.
on my rx8 i bled the breaks, and decided to be lazy and not use my vacuum bleeder now my break pedal goes all the way down and does absolutely nothing it only slows down all the way down and it takes like 10 seconds to stop going 12mph, and my ABS light is on and my traction light is on. what should i do? (not my image but same thing that happen to me) thanks guys

also once i let off the petal it goes all the way up so thats good
and its soft going down
(untill the last tiny little bit)
it only breaks like 2 inches away from being fully pressed down
Well ya messed up bleeding the brakes. There's air in the system somewhere. I would do it again with a helper and a good tutorial. If that doesn't work, you might have to get into reverse bleeding or other tactics to get the stuck air out
got it 👍 thanks today i will bleed it the correct way with the vacuum
I hope you were not pressing all the way down on the breaks (like to the floor) multiple times; you could have fucked up your cylinder.
Did you ever run the reservoir out of fluid?
Also what method did you use to bleed them in the first place
nope
gravity
but i was lazy and didnt close it back up when i would move on to the next caliper
So you just cracked the bleeders and let it sit for a few hours?
nah
i opened the first pass rear
pumped breaks
then close
then next
etc
💀
Did you have a bleeder cup full of fluid connected to the bleeder
yes
ho wait
oh
i didnt
I'm assuming that you just sucked air into the system like you already said
yerp
prob
Depending on how much air you sucked in you might have a real fun time getting it completely bled
i manage to turn off my abs light so that's find i forgot to say that
ill be fine i have a vaccum bleeder
thats what i ussualy use
it works charms!
(i hope it will work for this application)
lol
I would think that it would
yeah
Just make sure you don't let the reservoir get low
Otherwise you'll have to bench bleed the master if you don't already have to
Hopefully you don't have to
do they sell a tool that could pour it in for me?
my father is always buisy
or i could take it to the shop
A pressure bleeder
But you can always go to one corner and pull a vacuum and go check the fluid level again
o
smart
ill do that
Also for future reference gravity bleeding is where you just crack the bleeders loose and let it sit for a few hours without touching the brake pedal
dumb question do i pump with car on or off i know the break booster plays a roll in this
Off
ah shid
ok thats what i thought thanks
With a vacuum bleeder it should be a one man operation
🙏
And you shouldn't have to pump the brake pedal
ah poop
i have been doin it wrong
You crack the bleeder loose and just pump the vacuum while it's hooked up
and it will pull thru fluid?
Make sure you have the cup in line because brake fluid will kill the vacuum pump
Yes
yerp
thanks
🙏
How to bleed the brake using a vacuum pump. This was an old video I produced back in 2016 and with some of the questions I’ve had over the years, I’ve decided to upload an improved version. As some of you may have seen, I did rebuild the front calipers on this truck and if you haven’t seen that video, be sure to check it out. Whenever any work i...
